Description

Commission a collage style pet portrait for a friend or family member. A portrait painting of your loved one's fur babies would make a special, bespoke gift. Done in a collage style as shown in the Sample Portrait, it allows someone to memorialize past and include present pets all together into one portrait. Cats, dogs or any other pets are fine. For portraits of people, please feel free to inquire. Portrait background will be a loose abstract complimenting range of neutral tones (please specify any specific colour range preferences). Images show past samples. Your commissioned portrait will be unique to you. Watercolour pet portraits on illustration board will be in artist grade archival watercolour pigments and come with a double mat in a light outside dark inside mat that compliment the painting's colours (will need framing after receiving). Painting is sealed with a semi matte non yellowing clear coat for decades of surface and UV resistant protection. I have been painting portraits since the early 1990s, with hundreds of pet and people portrait commissions behind me. My strength is capturing a likeness and emotion and personality in the painted portrait. The style I prefer to work in is not highly photographic, for my small portraits, but more painterly and loose while maintaining the realistic representation and likeness. I guarantee that you will love your completed portrait! Procedure details for your portrait are below Watercolour Collage Pet Portrait Details: • Hand drawn and hand painted completely, by me • Painted on cold press acid free illustration board • Portrait Size: 11"x14" • Mat brings it to a framing size of 16"x20" • Painted in professional grade, light fast, archival watercolour pigments • Sealed with non yellowing semi satin clear coat made for protecting artwork from touch and UV light • Signed by me small and discreetly in pencil on bottom right corner so as not to detract from your portrait • Requires framing behind glass by you or your recipient General Portrait FAQs: • head and some shoulder in plain, neutral background • 2 - 5 pets per portrait (please inquire about larger paintings with more than 5 pets' heads) • Please be prepared within 3 days of receiving an image, to approve the finished portrait from a small emailed image, before I ship • No reply to approve your finished portrait after 3 days will result in it being shipped • 3 small corrections included (if requested) to the completed portrait • Work in progress update images not possible as it will hamper time needed to complete portrait • Portrait will take 1-2 weeks to complete, depending on my work load at the time • Please inquire about anything important Before you purchase, such as being needed by a specific date, etc. What Do I Need From You to Proceed: • 1 or more clear as possible, fairly decent size reference images of the pets, received by me within 3 days of purchase • an idea of what colours to avoid or work within for the pet portrait background • any small instructions such as removing a collar, description of eye colour if not very clear, etc. A graduate of Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto in the late 1980s, I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. I took on portrait commissions and sold small original pieces through a large well known online auction site as well as a personal website, and locally, from 1991 to 2010.
